In a dutch oven, brown beef with bacon. Add onion and
2 cups water. Simmer 1 hour. Add 4 cups of water,
split peas, lime juice and rind, salt, nutmeg and
turmeric. Simmer one hour more. Add corn and carrots.
Heat therough, serve.
