Cream butter and sugar to fluffy. Mix in vanilla, salt and almonds.
Add flour and mix just to blend. Divide in 3 pieces. Form each into
thin rectangle and wrap in plastic. Chill. Roll 1 dough between
plastic wrap to 1/16 to 1/8 in. Cut in wafers and place on lined
sheet. Bake 10 min or until beginning to brown on edges. When cool
spread with jelly on one and top. Frost with icing.

1/2 c Sugar
1/4 ts Vanilla
1 pn Salt
1/2 c Gr. almonds
1 1/2 c Flour
Currant jelly and powdered
